HireRight Offers Pharmaceutical Representative License Verification to Support Legislation Driving Ethical Promotion of Pharmaceutical Sales

IRVINE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- HireRight, a leading provider of global employment background checks, drug testing, education verification, and electronic Form I-9 and E-Verify solutions, has added Pharmaceutical Representative License Verification to its professional license check product offering. This new verification further supports pharmaceutical customers and the cities driving the ethical promotion of pharmaceutical sales through legislation requiring that pharmaceutical representatives are licensed.

Washington, D.C. was the first city to enact this legislation in 2008, and the City of Chicago announced similar legislation in 2016, with added declaration requirements for representatives, such as the disclosure of doctor outreach, drugs pitched to doctors, samples provided, and any gifts or other payment offered.

HireRight’s new offering will support pharmaceutical companies conducting business in Washington, D.C. and Chicago by offering verification of the pharmaceutical representative license in these markets as well as markets that may adopt similar legislation in the future.
